The Center

altAlmost Home Kids opened its Naperville, Illinois door in 1999 to Medically Fragile Children. It now serves as prototype, both locally and nationally, as a means for caring for all children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) and their families in the community. The house is staffed with RN, LPN and aid support that ensures a friendly and safe environment.

"You wouldn't know it was licensed by public health. It's a beautiful ranch home on two acres complete with wonderful childlike art work, bright windows and beautiful scenery. We even see deer grazing in the back yard. It's a retreat for children. An experience they will enjoy and want to visit time and time again. " MOM

In August, 2003, Illinois Governor passed house bill 0359, revising the Alternative Health Care Delivery Act making possible "Children's Community-Based Health Care Centers". Today we offer Respite Care and Transitional Care (120 day hospital to home program), Our goal is to have children living comfortably with their families at home.

If your state is interested in this model, please contact our office.
