Therapies (PT, OT, Speech, Music)

AHK’s Harper Family Foundation Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy Programs share a primary impact: 1) Support the child’s physical growth and prevent further disability. This is accomplished through individual evaluations, therapy interventions and by educate families on positioning, handling, and therapeutic play. 

The goals of AHK’s therapy programs are to:

  1. Identify goals appropriate for therapy intervention as determined by input from child’s family and physician (and child, if appropriate).
  2. Establish a treatment program designed to meet those goals.
  3. Work with AHK staff to implement treatment.
  4. Educate families on rationale for and skilled therapeutic techniques for carryover into the home.
  5. Continually re-assess child’s needs as appropriate.
  6. Refer/counsel with related team disciplines as appropriate.
